Guiding Principles

We take pride in understanding each of our clients’ specific goals to help them work towards a successful retirement. As we develop their customized blueprint, we have core principles in mind that drive our actions. The foundation of Gordon Wealth Planning is built upon the following beliefs:
- To have each investment made with a purpose or goal in mind
- To have perspective about the meaning of money in the total picture of your life
- To have something to do when you retire and have a purpose
- To include diversification in your portfolio – not all eggs in one basket
- To spend less than your income
- To have enough guaranteed income to cover your living expenses in retirement, if possible
- To not be over-reliant on the markets for retirement income
- To take care of the non-financial activities AKA “having your affairs in order” – Wills, Trusts, Medical Directives, POA

- To have a coordinated team of professional advisors, including estate attorneys and CPAs
- To make educated and informed decisions
- To have some level of organization so that you know what you have and others can take over
- To understand your feelings and emotions about money, wealth, risk so you can make the most unemotional choices possible
- To not only have a plan and actively implement the plan for what you would like to happen, but have a plan and actively implement the plan in case of some event you don’t want to happen does happen
"If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up someplace else."
― Yogi Berra, former New York Yankees catcher
